Although I absolutely adore the Fall/Winter time of year, my skin doesn't always cooperate with the harsh temp drop. Fighting the curse of flaky skin, chapped lips, and ashy limbs can be a tough job. If you experience similar issues then read on for 5 tips to maintain glowing skin year round.
1. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! With the change of the weather should bring a slight shift in your skin care regimen. In other words, up the ante! I tend to opt for thicker, oil based creams to seal the deal.
2. Do not stop using Sunscreen. This is imperative. Just because the temp maybe lower doesn't mean that the sun goes into hiding. Protect yourself.
3. Exfoliate lips. Come on now, if you're going to wear these gorgeous fall hues make sure that your lip care is on point. I usually mix a bit of olive oil and brown sugar in a small bowl, let it sit on my pout for a few minutes, and either use an old tooth brush or wet wash cloth to scrub a bit before rinsing off. Also, make sure to keep lip balm in your handbag. And never lick those puckers. Leave that to Mr. Cool J..
4. Give your hands a little extra TLC. I really love Vaseline's cocoa butter body gel. Keeps my hands so soft and smells wonderful.
5. Drink water. We all should get those 8 glasses a day in no matter what. So, If water is such an essential it wouldn't hurt to keep some on hand throughout the day to make sure you're getting enough in on a daily basis.
- Oh, now I don't recommend this for everyone, but I live by VASELINE! Just the regular ol' petroleum based stuff. I love to slather it on my skin after a shower, right before bed time. So smooth. I've heard some people say it clogs their pores but I've never had an issue with it. Works like magic :)
