My mom is absolutely the most amazing 63 year old woman out there. She's been through more than most, and is also stronger than most. Go figure! I get my love of makeup from her, so it was shocking when she came to ME for advice. Apparently, she believed her foundation was drying her skin out, and leaving an ashy finish. We made a deal that I'd be able to give her a mini makeover without her trying to look in the mirror every two minutes for critiquing.

- After she freshly washed her face, I proceeded to use Ponds Moisturizer to make sure the skin was hydrated.

- applied Revlon's Colorstay concealer under the eyes to minimize puffiness.

- Using a Sonia Kashuk angled foundation brush, I slowly blended in the Repairwear laser focus foundation in until I was satisfied with the outcome. 

-E.L.F's brow powder came in really handy, because my mom lost and barely gained her brows back after Chemo years ago. 

- From there, I used Ben Nye's amazingly effective Matte Finishing Spray. 

-To finish up, I used Ben Nye's lumineer eyeshadow on the base lid, and blended in a coffee shade from a now sold out kohls 24 shade palette. Applied a bit of Maybelline Kohl liner to the bottom line, and used M.A.C's dazzle mascara to add a fresh, yet natural effect. 

- Instead of setting her look with powder, I wanted to keep the dewy look. I actually used the E.L.F bronzer in peach as a highlighter under the eye area/around the cheeks. It really works like a charm to illuminate. We finished by mixing NYX matte lip cream and Wet & Wild's nude lippie in #901.

In the words of Mr. West: "Rock Forever 21, but just turned thirty." Well, it looks like there maybe another reason for ladies of all ages to continue shopping at the beloved chain store. Forever 21 has released a premium cosmetic line that is set to be a complete upgrade from the random makeup you were once able to snag from under a table on your way to the checkout counter. 

The line includes everything from foundation, primer, highlighter, lipstick, gloss, and even brushes. The products are ranged from $4.80 - $14.80. There's definitely something for everyone. Is not too pricey, but hopefully the higher priced items will be well worth it.  Overall, I think this is a good look for the store to make beauty products more accessible, and marketable since makeup is just as much a part of pulling together a fashion look. Why not be able to get that in a one stop shop?  I will definitely be trying out the lip & cheek stain, liquid highlighter, mascara, and the peachy blush to review.

I instantly fell in love with this lipstick the moment I put it on. It glides on so smooth, and had my lips feeling so juicy without the uber - sometimes messy, overly glossy effect. I'm only wearing lashes and bronzer, and something about this lipstick  makes that perfectly ok. It's daring yet subtle if that makes sense. It's powering, without taking over the entire look.

Instead, I'd rather have an item in my collection that I know everyone won't have, because it's custom made to fit the specific need and want of each client. That's dope. 

@TaiBella (Instagram handle) is a jewelry designer with a bright future ahead. She has a niche for bringing life to door knocker style earrings, and I am absolutely in love with her method. So much that when I saw these babies I had to immediately purchase. 

The earrings were $20.00 including shipping. Might I add, I received my package within two days from the afternoon I ordered. She's quick, efficient, and very professional.
