I always craved creativity, diversity & culture. I think the beauty of life is realizing that we all have at least ONE unique quality that sets us apart from everyone else.
Yet, it seems as though most people are in a rush to be a mirror image of the next person. The way you dress, think & speak should be your decisions. What is the point of following the crowd? My grandmother always said, If you aren't a leader, you'll end up following your ass right off a cliff." Her words were funny at the time, but now they make so much sense.
Since when did a group friends inspire to have one definitive look? Your friends are supposed to have things in common with you, but everyone is different. How can you all stand out as an individual when everyone resembles a clone clown of the next: Similar designer bags dangling off the wrists, exact poses, clothing, smiles, etc.
Just like that, your identity gets lost in the shuffle.
I want my daughter to grow up with a positive self image. When I look at her I see such innocence and LIFE. She has gorgeous, smooth, chocolate skin, a beautiful smile, immaculate almond shaped eyes that sparkle with various shades of brown.
My goal is for her to look in the mirror and always love what she sees staring back. And I know that will come from the INSIDE. To begin to love yourself, you have to accept the things that can't be changed, and to change the necessary ones in order to be a person that YOU are proud of. The reason that some may seek physical alteration is because of a void internally.
In my opinion, every woman is beautiful. There is something special about each and every one of us that no one else on this earth has; even if its just your DNA.
In no way am I applying that it's wrong to admire other people. That is normal. It's when you spend more time creating an image of the next, rather than working on the beautiful canvas of yourself, that it becomes a problem.
