1. The positive pessimistic - She's the person that prides herself on saying she's drama free, happy and supportive. Yet, you'll usually find her constantly in the middle of controversy. Whether it's because someone is hating on her, being disrespectful, or envious of her looks, success, or the great life that she lives, it's ALWAYS something! Through it all, she maintains the holier than thou perspective on it all; never seeing her wrongs. Have you ever stopped to think WHY people don't fancy her? Negativity breeds negativity.
2. Nancy Narcissistic - This friendship will always be totally one-sided. You're just a bench warmer for her all star team of personality defects. Your personal problems, issues, successes, happiness, worries, concerns, and overall life will never matter to this person. Unless you're willing to compromise your self respect, everything that is usually 50/50 will become null & void. Attempting to let her know the error of her ways will only result in a continuation of ME, ME, ME events.. just skip it!
3. Esteem downer - You know those things called flaws? She will be sure to make you aware of the ones you possess. And once this person gains knowledge of any insecurities you may have that makes room for even more ammo. The truth is, you most likely have great qualities that she tries to diminish for her own benefit. Stay far AWAY from this type unless you are just a strong person that loves to deal with bullshit. Or else you will begin to feel a change within yourself. I can guarantee it won't be for the better..
4. Messy mouth - She lives for gossip. Honey, it doesn't matter whose it is either. Once the word gets out, she's yapping those gums to the nearest bystander. This type of relationship thrives off of pretending to be concerned with your feelings, situations, and deep thoughts. Ultimately, it will result in you receiving feedback on everything you've ever spilled. Loyalty isn't an option with her. That will be way too much to ask for. Furthermore, gossip is much more exciting for this person vs a long lasting bond.
5. The lint licker - She's only interested in being a leach to everything that involves you. In my opinion, this is the most dangerous type. Simply because in the beginning you may confuse this person with being a great friend only to find out that you're dealing with a true lifetime story. These "friendships" tend to end after you discover the true her. It won't be very nice because she's never going to understand just how much being clingy affects those around her. She puts it off on just being a good friend. RUN!
SIDENOTE:
There are a slew of other types to be cautious of, but these are the most common ones I've had the displeasure of coming in contact with. Each of these relationships become very toxic after awhile. Listen, romantic partnerships are not the only ones to look out for warning signs in. You should pick your friends like you choose your fruit. With that said, I'm blessed to have amazing people in life, even if i had to cross paths with a few Cruella's along the way. Learning is growing. Cherish those whom reciprocate..

After the successful release of her fragrances HEAT & HEAT RUSH, Beyonce is back with a brand new perfume for the ladies! The name is PULSE. Mrs. Carter recently stated, "“I love the idea of a signature scent that lets a woman leave her mark wherever she goes, so I always try to make my scents appropriate for any occasion.” The fragrance comes in an upside-down chrome-and-blue bottle, neatly tucked into a holographic carton. The bottle’s topper, a chrome cap, was inspired by her stage costumes. “I love [that] because it incorporates fashion into the overall design."
Prepare to have your PULSE racing when the fragrance debuts in SEPTEMBER.

Meet Plus model, Denisha Lewis..
1. What inspired you to get into the world of plus modeling?
Well, I had a friend who was in the plus model industry who always asked me “why don’t you model or do fashion shows?” It was funny to me that she asked me this because I’m a full figured woman and I didn’t see myself as the model type. But she broke it down for me about how “Plus Models” or “Full Figured Models” are becoming more prominent in the fashion industry and how you can also use this as a platform to inspire others. The more she talked about it the more I became interested and after I looked further into the industry the more I was sold that this was a great career to follow.
2. How long have you been modeling?
To be honest, last year was when I started to pursue modeling. So I guess you can say I’m fresh on the scene lol.
3. What do you feel is the biggest misconception about plus sized women?
Well, there is a whole list of misconceptions about us. But one that stands out the most that I hear is that plus size models or even full figured models can not do high fashion a well as a skinny model, which I believe is totally crazy! They say the clothes fit better on a skinny model then a bigger model. And I say that we look more womanly, feminine and sexy in different clothing then a petite woman because our curves compliment the clothes.
4. Confidence is very beautiful at any size. How do you maintain a healthy self image in a society that plasters "perfect" images for women to aspire to be?
I’m not going to lie. Sometimes it can be hard when you’re competing with other women that the “media” calls perfect. Self love is the most important thing you can ever have. So instead of looking at all the things I need to change about myself, I highlight all the good things and I work on making the bad things about me better.
5. What is your workout regimen?
Well, for the past month I’ve been hitting up the gym 6 days a wk. I’ll workout for about an hour. With 30mins on the elliptical machine, 15mins on the treadmill, and another 15mins with weights. I also cut back on a lot of sweets, carbs and soda.
6. Your beauty is quite stunning. What is your favorite physical feature?
Thank you very much!!!! I’d have to say that my eyes are one of my favorite features.
7. Do you have any advice for young women struggling with becoming comfortable in their skin?
Yea! Taking the time out to find out who you really are is the key. Once you know, embrace it! A lot of the younger crowd mimics what they see on the videos and in the magazines. To me, beauty is knowing your worth and being proud of the woman you’re becoming or striving to be. If you don’t like something about yourself take the steps to change it. Change is good when you’re doing it to better yourself and your life. We ALL have insecurities, but it’s up to you if you allow them to bring you down. Find out what you like about yourself and highlight those things.
8. What is your must have style item for the upcoming fall season?
My Blazers! YEY!
9. If you could only use one makeup item out of your beauty bag, what would it be? Why?
I would have to be my MAC Red lipstick. It makes me feel glamorous anytime I wear it.
10. Thank you for your time. Any closing words?
Yes. Live and Love Life. Always respect yourself. And always, ALWAYS keep it sexy classy.
Editor's note: This interview was very important to me, because I wanted to showcase the OTHER side of beauty, fashion, confidence, etc. There are so many full figured women of the world. I am one of them, so it is imperative that I always represent for those whom represent a part of who I am at this point in my life. With that said, isn't Denisha simply gorgeous? Stunning.

I would like to believe that I'm a great friend. I've had the same best friend for the last 14 years, and I don't see that changing, EVER. Although, I have also met a few gems along my journey whom I wouldn't trade for the world. I suppose I shall get to the point of this posting. When I moved to Virginia in 2007 I didn't know anyone! It's very rough being in a new state, city, and social spectrum without being familiar with one soul. Let's just say I attempted to adjust as good as possible. Along the road I met someone that I had a vibe with. I was single, free, young, and ready to have fun! She seemed to be a great addition to my life at the time. We had the best times together. I take a long time to click with someone, but she was amazing. I'm talking about someone who "got" my jokes, laughed with me every other minute, and whom I'd like to believe I taught many lessons of life that she wasn't aware of beforehand. I was more of the city girl hanging with the chick that wasn't completely comfortable with herself. But, I am the type of gal that is very outgoing and open. Most people feel a certain way about me until they spend a few hours in my presence. Something about my boldness makes others feel good around me...
Fast forward to 2011, A lot has changed in my life. I am now a mother, to-be-wife, full time student focused on becoming a teacher. Things have changed. My priorities have changed. My LIFE has changed. But, I am still the same exact KBoogie. Some things about myself will never change. I AM A CONSTANT. And once you're considered a friend of mine I take you on for life. But, there comes a time in your life when you MUST grow in order to become the person that GOD has ordained you to be. Each birthday that you're blessed to see is more amazing than that last. Why waste that beautiful grace on staying stuck in the same? It would be pointless.
With that said, the awesome 5 year friendship that I once had with this person has come to an end. I think It had a lot do with growing, yet we didn't perceive the differences the same. I believe she felt I changed for the worst. See, you have to learn to understand that time not only heals all, but it changes all. If your feelings for a person are affected by the additions, blessings, or changes to their lives then there is a possibly that you aren't as loyal as one could be. Friendship is all about patience, trust, honesty, and TRUE love. We as women are so quick to focus those aspects on our love lives, but not friendships. That is why it has always been so important to me. Life is lonely without friends. Life is even worse without GROWTH. They should go hand in hand. I want us all to change, inspire, aspire, grow, learn, gain knowledge together! Let's start a new movement...
I still have amazing friends that love who I am. And of course, my bff of over a decade, plus family, and a wonderful fiance. I couldn't be happier. But, I must say I am a bit saddened by the way things ended with her. There is always more to the story, and I wouldn't dare put our business out there like that. It's not for the world to know, but at the same time it shouldn't have been enough to block one's phone number, and also from networking sites. You live and you learn huh?!? Be more careful about who you let into your life. Just a heads up...
*shrugs*
Peace. Love. Admiration. Respect.
