This look is where Glam meets Earthy.
I absolutely love the dramatic eyes
paired with a neutral, stunning lip color.

1. Apply a lightweight foundation to your skin. Try Covergirl Queen Collection.
2. Wet N' Wild cosmetics has amazing trio swatches that show you which colors to use on each part of your eye, such as "Brow bone, crease, and eyeline"..
With the correct blending and shading this is a fool proof way of achieving the look.
3. For full lashes try MAC'S temporary extensions.
4.Estee Lauder's high glaze lip gloss is textured, sheer, and stays on for hours!
5. To maximize the drama of the eyes, make sure to grab a black eyeliner to finish the look. Personally, I adore Rimmel's Kohl liner. It goes on baby soft and i've never had a problem with smudging!
For some odd reason, women of color are terrified of blush.
I've never understood the reasoning behind NOT wearing it.
Someone once told me, "Our skin doesn't change colors when
we're flustered, so why create a facade of it doing so?"

Girl, what?!? Blush can be your best friend if used correctly.
Who doesn't want to highlight their cheek bones? RIGHT.

Quick Tips:
- Blush should always look natural w/ an undertone of color.
- Lips and cheeks work best when kept in the same shade family.
- Powder blush is simple to use for beginners. It blends quite
easier than cream blush. (But if you have dry skin, cream blush
maybe the best route for you.)
- When in doubt, swipe a hint of bronzer after applying the blush
for a smooth finish.

NARS cosmetics has an array of shades that looking amazing on literally everyone. But at $27.00 a pop that isn't ideal for every budget. With that said, try brands such as, MILANI, COVERGIRL AND MAYBELLINE to begin with. Invest in a great brush & Blend, blend, blend, blend!!

DON'T!!!! make the sad mistake like the photos below. Blush is supposed to highlight your cheekbones, not look like you fell in a sea of color.

Bravery.

My blog is dedicated to all things of BEAUTY, but that runs much deeper than the latest skin foundation. I'm an extreme observer. That has become to be a blessing and curse for me. I wanted to speak on something today that I believe everyone at some point in their life has a problem with...BRAVERY! Whether its being brave enough to walk out of that dead end job, relationship, friendship, following dreams, or to simply trust God to take care of you. It takes courage to get where you want to in life. There has been plenty of times in my life where I look back and felt as though I 'missed out' on opportunities. I realized, I never missed out, I ultimately decided to OPT out. We all have different reasons for the decisions we make, but a lot of people find comfort in blaming temporary situational issues on long term failures. Some of us are inspired by those who are physically appealing, mentally brilliant, financially stable, etc. I am amazed by those whom are willing to risk it all for the chance to express themselves. How can anyone tell you that you're wrong for being YOU. See, we live in a society that is so addicted to following trends, celebrities, and WHAT'S HOT that it becomes quite easy to lose yourself along the way. The brilliance in being brave is understanding that you may lose a battle, but you'll always win the war.

Sincerely,

- K Boogie

Coral Crush.

I LOVE Orange lips on Brown girls!

Wanna try this look but afraid?

Lip Tip: Try a shade in matte form.
It tones down bright colors more
than a shiny lip gloss.

Below, are a few of my favorite shades
in cost efficient brands.

1. MAC's Neon Orange
2. NYX Diamond Sparkle Lipstick Orange
3. Revlon's Orange flip
4. Fashion Fair's Cinnamon Crush

They have beautiful shades for
every brown complexion :)

Go Green!

I'm a fan of the original smokey eye,
but I also like to try new things.
And since I have natural green eyes,
sometimes it's fun to make them the
center of attention.

I'm no makeup artist, but one of my rules
when creating a look is either BOLD lips
or BOLD eyes. For this, I chose the eyes.

1. MAC's Green Humid eyeshadow
2. MAC's Bitter eyeshadow
3. MAC's Black Kohl eyeliner
4. MAC's False Lashes Natural length
5. MAC's Lustreglass
6. MAC's Concealer NC43
7. MAC's Studio Tech Foundation
8. MAC's Primer

Fall Wish List, part 1.

Thanks to STYLE369.COM
The most amazing site
for full figured ladies..

I've found one too many
pieces for my Fall 2011
Wish List...

1. Color Block Tunic - Although I love it, I haven't quite gotten into colorblocking for the Summer. But, when I saw this black & brown number I immediately had to have it. It may seem plain upon first glance, but that's what accessories are for!

2. Wide Leg Jeans - Skinny Jeans are here to stay, but I'm a little tired of them. Now, that's not saying I won't be wearing them (that would be a lie), but I miss the days of a wider jean. I can see myself wearing these with a platform wedge, or a super cute flat shoe.

3. Striped Tunic - Oh, how I love the Nautical look. Alot of full figured gals shy away from stripes, but I personally think they can be quite slimming if paired with the correct pieces.

4.Feathered Headband - No Brainer. I love snazzy hair pieces & this would be so cute with a high bun, or straight hair.

5. Red Link Necklace - I definitely had the striped tunic in mind with this one.

6. Biker Boots - Every year I buy a flat pair of boots. & I usually lean towards something edgy! These are a must have.

7. Square Shades - So mod!

8. Camel colored bag - I love this because of the color and style. I'm a lover of all things body crossed. I can't stand tote handbags. (Just not my style..)

Make me...UP!

When it comes to my makeup routine, I pretty much find
a cool routine for each season & stick with it!
Although I love trying new things, I know what
works for me on a daily basis.

A lil' nude lip gloss, MAC's matte lipsticks, bronzer, foundation, colored eyeliner, my favorite blush brush, mascara, and of course, my favorite
eyeshadows by Rimmel cosmetics.

I know some of you are straight up MAC
girls when it comes to the pigments, but
i'm able to work just about any
brand & Rimmel is AMAZING!

Oh, Solo.

Solange is hands down one of my favorite chicks!
I describe her style as Effortless. Genius. Unique.
Not many people are great at being themselves, and that's
why I admire her courage!

Fringe with benefits.

My favorite handbag of the summer is definitely the fringe satchel.
I remember walking into H&M for accessories, and BAM I fell in love
with the all black baby staring back at me. I love the boho chic feel of the fringe look. If you're an on-the-go gal like myself, this is the perfect fit!

Here are a few photos of your fave celebs embracing the trend..

Lashing Out.

I bought MAC's "False Lashes" mascara last week, and I am pleasantly impressed!

The super long wand, black pigment, and lightweight feel is amazing.
