Spring bling: Dewy skin

new season will be here before we know it, and most of us are already on the prowl for new makeup to accommodate the change. The spring brings in a must have for dewy, fresh faced skin. Let's talk about how to achieve a youthful finish that will have people confused on if you're even wearing makeup to begin with. Below I have featured my three of my favorite beauty products to achieve the look.

1. Smashbox BB Cream $32.00

The hotter it gets out, the less makeup most women like to wear.  BB Cream is great because it provides minimal coverage, and an outta this world glow! This product is SPF 35, which will help to protect your skin from the harsh rays of the sun. Your skin should always be protected to remain flawless once the makeup comes off.

2. Nars $30.00 In Illuminator in super orgasm

This color is just radiant. Beautiful. Perfect. Every woman of any complexion could benefit from this amazing highlighter. Make the cheek area the focal point for an instant highlight to your face.

3. Urban Decay $8.50 setting spray in Chill

There's no point in attempting to achieve a dewy look. If your makeup is slipping and sliding right off then the purpose will be defeated. Finishing spray will seal the deal for long lasting effect.

P.S. Great skin care starts before makeup is even a thought. This look will resonate even better when your skin is already healthy. So, wash that face at night, Moisturize, and drink that water gals!

Coffee Break: House of Kustomz

Meet Jasmin Underwood, the owner and sole creator of House of Kustomz designs. She's a young woman on a mission to break all barriers in the world of fashion. Read on to get to know more about this female powerhouse.

1. How did you get into designing clothing?

1. I have always had passion for fashion. I didn't know anything about thrifting then so i could never afford to express myself. Not only that I was always towering over everyone so most times my pieces would be too short, too baggy, or something! My first obsession was DENIM; it complements almost anything especially everyday wear.

2. How long ago did you start the creative process?

My mother brought me an old machine home late 2012. I knew nothing about it. The first day I got it I threaded it and never stopped! Day in day out I sewed and sewed. It was very relaxing for me so I fell in love and never worked another day!

3. Are you self taught, or did you go to school to master your skill?

I'm self taught & mastered my skill all alone!

4. Describe the type of woman that wears H.O.K?

House of Kustomz offers a little something for every one . A woman that is Confident, unique, outspoken, comfortable in one's skin; women that doesn't mind being a show off, turn heads & sometimes be considered a little weird. House of Kustomz is all about personal style, so honestly you are how you carry yourself while wearing it.

5. Tell us more about your Winter Collection.

HOK FALL/WINTER COLLECTION, I
plan to get a little closer to my males  and reach out to all my dolls that consider themselves rebels. We're going baggy and making it trendy/raunchy. Fashion world predicted olive green; we plan to go the opposite direction. At HOK we don't follow rules we break them.

6. Describe your personal style in three words.

  Disrespectful
   Unapologetic
   Misunderstood

7. Who are your favorite designers in the fashion industry?

I'm not really into the hype. I prefer underground designers like Marquette Collection, Tyler Wells, & NeNeShirlo.

8. If you could create a look for any celebrity, who would it be? Why?

Most likely it would be Amber Rose. She offers a unique look, and I know she would kill one of my pieces.

9. How does it feel running your own business? And what are some obstacles you've had to overcome along the way?

It feels amazing. It comes with lots of obstacles, and take lots of patience. One thing I had to really get used to is not everyone is interested. Rejection is the biggest obstacle for me, and still is to this day. So I just keep in mind that if one door closes another one will open. I get discouraged at times just like any dream chaser would, but I let that be the fuel to my fire, and I go harder.

10. Any last words for budding entrepreneurs?

Grind hard and shine bright. Keep your faith and believe in yourself even when it's a little cloudy. Always remember, DREAMS ARE REAL.

Highlight your life.

When I was on vacation I stumbled across a gem in my best friend's makeup bag. She's not big on putting on a full face, but swears by this bronzer by Lorac. Being the curious person I am, I had to try it. Instead of using it for an all over bronzer effect, I chose to highlight under my eyes to give my face some extra life. And oh, it was simply the best I've ever used. The next time I go on a shopping trip, I'll be purchasing this. You can find it on loraccosmetics.com for $30

Tip: A little goes a very LONG way.

Vacay.

My posts have been limited in the past week, but that's because I was on a week's vacation. Instead of living through social media, taking a million pics and blogging I decided to just....VACAY. My best friend turned 30 this past weekend, and we took our talents to South Beach.

I didn't take a lot of photos, but I'm willing to share a few that I did snap.

I've missed palm trees....❤️

We stayed at a cute little quaint hotel on Collins Avenue. It was a different experience, dope all the same. The hotel played music all day and night, and had a 3 hour complimentary happy hour.

We eventually walked the strip. I wanted to stop by Wet Willie's for a little "shock treatment." Everyone always brags about this place so I had to try it. (The drinks were eh, as well as the staff. However, my favorite part was being able to walk on the streets with my alcohol in hand straight chilling....

After walking on the beach and watching street entertainment, and just soaking in the free environment of Sobe, we worked up an appetite. We were immediately impressed by the friendliness of the staff waiting outside, and the charming style of News Cafe Restaurant. It's a European type bistro with a menu to live for! I kept it simple and ordered light.

Their Bahama Mama drink was yummy.
Our waiter made sure the bartender hooked us up, and he gave us glasses as souvenirs.

(I love collecting from different cities.)

As an appetizer I tried the conch fritters. The dipping sauce was amazing. It was sweet with a flash of spice. Overall, the fritters had NOTHING on my mama's.

Don't sleep on my turkey panini. It tasted a helluva lot better than my pictures give justice. (And to think I didn't even eat half of the food on that plate).

My co-star of the sobe festivities...
The bestie! She's turned 30 & fabulous.
(Don't you just love the hotel's mirror in the background)...

The rest is too much for TV! Hehe. I thoroughly enjoyed myself for the short time that I was in Miami. Florida is home, so being back is always a pleasure.

Shimmer me.

Face of the day:

I've had this pretty eyeshadow in my collection for quite awhile now. The name is "smutty green" and it's by M.A.C

Now let's set a disclaimer here, the only reason I'm even dabbing in eyeshadow is because I know that once I finish makeup school and perfect my craft that my clients will want various looks. I'm not really a fan of shadow on myself, never have been. Give me wispy lashes, dewy skin, and a bold lip to keep my happy.

When I saw this beautiful shimmery green pigment I had to purchase. The color really stood out, and with my eyes being hazel I thought it would work well.

I only used a small amount for my lid, and blended shades from my naked palette to tone it down and smoke the eye out.

The more you pack on, of course the more brilliant color pay off, but I opted for a subtle look. (As you can clearly see since I ditched my falsies today)..

Overall, I loved the shadow and I'll be looking to practice more looks with it.
